2024 New Chopard MilleMiglia Watches

In this year's 1000Miglia Classic Car Road Race, drivers can also take a look at the much-anticipated new MilleMiglia series watches. Since 1988, Chopard has renewed its MilleMiglia series watches every year to pay tribute to this unique event. This year marks the 36th consecutive year of the launch of the MilleMiglia series watches. Chopard specially presents two new watches that incorporate the competitive spirit and surging emotions embodied in the 1000Miglia Classic Car Road Race to continue this love. On June 10, Chopard hosted a special dinner at the legendary restaurant Areadocks in Brescia and unveiled the latest creative achievements of the two brands.

The first MilleMigliaClassic chronograph has a diameter of 40.5 mm and is made entirely of Lucent Steel™, an alloy that contains no less than 80% recycled steel and is 50% tougher than ordinary steel. The dial color is inspired by the black and white checkered flag waved by the flag bearer when the champion racer reaches the finish line. The dial is named "LaGara", which means "race" in Italian, symbolizing the spirit of competition that is brave and fearless. The exquisite "glass box" convex round watch mirror gives this new chronograph a charming retro charm and also allows a full view of the dial. The fluted crown and knurled buttons are more conducive to grip and control, and are also reminiscent of the decorative patterns on the brake pedals of antique cars.

Through the sapphire crystal glass back on the back of the watch, you can see the beautiful movement of the movement. This self-winding mechanical movement has also been awarded the Swiss Official Observatory Precision Chronometer Certification (COSC). This watch is also paired with a black calfskin strap, the perforated design is reminiscent of classic racing gloves, and also echoes the chronograph on the dial.

At the same time, Chopard also specially presents the MilleMiglia Italy Special GTS Chronograph. The 44mm diameter case is made of lightweight micro-beaded titanium and is limited to 100 pieces, paying tribute to the birthplace of this legendary event - Italy. IWC Ceralume Luminous Ceramic Case

IWC Schaffhausen has officially launched a patented technology called Ceralume® luminous ceramic. With the patent-pending highly engineered process technology developed by IWC's XPL experimental engineering department, the brand has produced a fully luminous ceramic case for the first time. This technology is achieved by evenly mixing ceramic powder with high-quality Super-LumiNova® luminous coating pigments. Super-LumiNova®, produced by Swiss technology company RC Tritec, is a high-tech ceramic compound that behaves like a photovoltaic cell. This material absorbs light energy from sunlight or artificial light and temporarily stores it, eventually emitting the absorbed light energy as visible light. This cycle can be repeated an unlimited number of times without causing the material to age or reduce its light storage capacity. In darkroom tests, the Ceralume® luminous ceramic case can continuously emit bright blue light for more than 24 hours.

As early as 1986, IWC Schaffhausen launched the world's first watch with a black zirconium oxide ceramic case. Since then, IWC's main innovations in ceramics have included brown silicon nitride ceramic cases and black boron carbide ceramic cases, the latter of which is one of the hardest substances known. After launching a series of TOP GUN colored ceramic watches in eye-catching colors, the brand is now pushing the limits with Ceralume®.

In addition to the Ceralume® case, this concept watch based on the design features of the Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 is equipped with a white luminous dial and a white luminous rubber strap. The dial and strap are coated with Super-LumiNova®. The brass base of the dial is sprayed with a Super-LumiNova® solution and then printed on the luminous coating. The white rubber strap is made by injection molding and is also coated with Super-LumiNova® pigments.
